Awning troubles?

This is the time of year we stock awning ground poles and rafter poles due to "pop up storms" or strong winds. If you are unsure of the weather, or plan on leaving your site for the day put your awning up. This is especially true if you are near water,- where the wind currents can be stronger.
If expecting a rain storm, please put your awning at an angle to allow for water drainage. This will prevent water from collecting in the front and bending the front channel.
For those of you with travel trailers, you will also need to put the awning on a slant. When in doubt, put it down further than you think you need.
Have fun, but try to take preventative measures!

The Coleman name is back!

Scott just returned from a dealer meeting for Fleetwood Folding Trailers. As many of you may have learned Fleetwood was recently purchased by Blackstreet Capital Partners. Blackstreet focuses on control buyouts of companies that are either underperforming or undergoing some form of transition.
It was announced at the meeting that our folding camping trailers will once again feature the Coleman brand name. "This branding partnership, along with our recapitalization of the division and aggressive focus on innovation and quality- re-establishes the solid foundation and successful formula this great company was built upon," said Aldus ChapinII, Managing Director of Blackstreet Capital and Chairman of FTCA.
On a personal note, we are happy to be rejoined with the name that stands for quality and the great outdoors! The Coleman name is back.

The Dark Side

There have been comments made that I am moving to "the dark side"! For those of you who are "newbies" this means that I am in the process of purchasing a travel trailer. Although this is true, we will have the chance to tent trailer camp for one more trip. We will be taking a 99 Coleman Westlake to the 1000 Islands- because our trailer has not yet arrived. We always tell our customers to remember that they are purchasing for more than that one special trip they have planned, so this is a good lesson. We are looking forward to using the pop up- and will let you know how it goes.
