Time to Winterize
We love our new travel trailer and can't believe how easy it is to do everything. The idea of pushing a button to light the hot water heater, made things simple. We also liked the fact that we could have the fridge going on electric, and when we disconnected the cord it automatically lit on propane. These are things I've always sold, but never experienced until now. We're glad we got the power tongue jack, it made hooking up a breeze, and was worth the extra money.
On Sunday morning when we woke up we had no water. The outside hose was actually frozen at the spigot. Once we thawed it- no problems. But, this reminder was good as it forced us to winterize our trailer this week.
If you haven't done it yet drain all your tanks and have us winterize your trailer. If you do it on your own, don't forget to winterize outside water as well as toilet fittings. It's not unusual for people to forget these. Also, take your battery off, and put it in your house or basement where it will not freeze. This will help to extend the life of the battery. If you have a pop up trailer I recommend taking off the awning an storing it in the trailer or garage. Tilt down the front of the trailer so that when snow lands on it, it will melt off.
Last, but not least, hope for a short winter so that we can go camping again!
